Luke Perry has passed away at 52 years old after suffering a massive stroke last week
We are truly heartbroken after hearing Luke Perry has passed away earlier this morning after suffering a massive stroke last Wednesday.
According to his rep, Luke was “surrounded by his children, Jack and Sophie, fiancé Wendy Madison Bauer, ex-wife Minnie Sharp, mother Ann Bennett, step-father Steve Bennett, brother Tom Perry, sister Amy Coder, and other close family and friends” when he died on Monday. “The family appreciates the outpouring of support and prayers that have been extended to Luke from around the world, and respectfully request privacy in this time of great mourning.”
The producers of Riverdale, the CW show which featured Luke as Fred Andrews, announced the show would be shutting down production today following the news.
In a statement, they said “Luke was everything you would hope he would be: an incredibly caring, consummate professional with a giant heart, a true friend to all.”
After leaving 90210 in 2000, Luke went on to appear in several television shows and films, including the HBO series Oz and the movie The Fifth Element. He has been staring in Riverdale since 2016 as Fred Andrews, Archie’s father.
A 90210 reboot was also announced last week, the same day he was rushed to the hospital.
